PRINT TO PIXEL

To communicate a piece of music into an animated series of images - each group has been allocated a piece of music : mine is Clutchy hopkins - we are to familiarise ourselves with the track and choose three descriptive words which are inspired by the music. my choice should be intuitive and based on my emotional response to the music. The research will therefore take a visual form once the words have been chosen, and will be about making and doing.

Through a series of workshops; photography (rayograms), stop motion and illustration - i will experiment with different creative techniques and mix media. I will be generating imagery using a range of techniques that encompass both digital and analogue creative proccesses - these processes will be developed and used to visualise the descriptive words i have chosen related to the track.
Could be abstract or literal, pictorial or typographical.

my experiments

i felt this technique quite attractive as the repeated pattern and gaps wich create a great illusion to the eye aswel as good shadows.
i am especially feeling the curves and fluidity as it sets a sence of freedom.
I was influenced by natural forms such as rain drops and water i experimented with how i could reflect that element through paper using scoring into the paper and folds.
As i found it quite challenging to portray water i tried to think of how i could slice the form and still show the influence of water, ripple effect of falling water in a more abstract way; this would not only be refelected by visual but almost sound and frozen motion aswel.
what i found difficult was to keep the curves crisp with out causing unnecessary creases.
